Our Story
Curious Magpie Jewellery was founded in 2015 by Jewellery Designer/ Maker Hollie Eccles. Hollie has always been a magpie for anything bright and shiny and as a child was often found adorned head to toe in the entire contents of her Grandmother’s jewellery box!Jewellery has always been one of Hollie’s biggest passions and after many years of experimentation with different materials and techniques she discovered her style and design voice and Curious Magpie was born.
Each piece of Curious Magpie jewellery is handmade by Hollie and inspired by woodland treasures and the beauty of the British countryside. Her work is a true celebration of the imperfect beauty of nature and its tactile quality.
Using ancient Lost Wax Casting techniques, many of the pieces are created from an actual miniature pinecones, acorns or twigs, transformed into solid metal replicas. This intricate process means that every single piece is completely unique and one of a kind. Hollie works in a variety of precious and non-precious metals including Sterling Silver, 9ct Yellow & White Gold, Gold Fill and Copper.
Alongside the Curious Magpie designs Hollie also works on commissions and bespoke jewellery requests. She loves bringing a customer's visions to life and seeing a rough, raw idea develop into something beautiful and so meaningful and personal.
Hollie has a 2.1 BA Hons in Jewellery Design and has over 15 years of experience at the jeweller’s bench. She has worked for established jewellery brands in both Birmingham and London and now lives in rural Leicestershire doing what she loves most, crafting and designing beautiful, wearable jewellery.
